I am so grateful to have performed in one of my FAVORITE musicals, CABARET, with some of my oldest theatre pals at Cowardly Scarecrow Theatre Company! Working with this ensemble was an overwhelmingly wonderful adventure and I'm so proud of the show we created, especially given the strange political climate we are living in. Please enjoy these incredible Reader Recommended reviews of this amazing show.
"......the highest hurdle for a show like this is finding a way to make it its own...there have been about a billion revivals of Cabaret, and even a talented cast can easily slip into mimicry. This production manages to clear that hurdle. The talent on stage alone would make this worth the trip, and happily that talent is being deployed in service of a great show."

..The quiet procession.....as the last strains of Cabaret fade to silence, stayed with me long after I'd left the bar and won't soon be forgotten." - Dmitry Samarov

"While the insanely nostalgic playlist of all Backstreet Boys hits was incredibly refreshing, what makes the whole thing come together is the boisterous cast led by Ashley Geron as Stacey, teen evil fighter extraordinaire, and James Grino as an eerily believable Teddy Crooner. Be sure to keep your eye out for my personal favorite, the alcoholic mother of Stacey, played by Brittny Congleton. (She’s the one with curlers in her hair and a bottle of vodka always in hand…my kind of lady). "

"A game cast delivers side splitting one-liners with zeal and tertiary characters including a vodka-fueled mother and Freddy sweater clad backup dancers who interact with the audience nearly run away with the show." -Aaron Eischeid (read full review HERE)

It was an incredible honor and adventure originating the role of "Lisa" in MCL Premiere Premiers Festival winner TAPPED! We won a six week run.. which SOLD OUT every show and the incredible people at Gaper's Block had this to say about it:
"Even the secondary characters get campy, like Mary's best friend Lisa, the world-savvy man-eating co-worker depicted with conviction by Brittny Congleton."
"TAPPED is an entertaining musical with cast that displays a great range of Chicago talent."
"It isn't every day that treason and love are combined in musical theater, but playwright Jed Levine and composer Brad Kemp have blended their script and lyrical writing abilities to comic effect."

Musical of the Living Dead was one of my favorite experiences of 2013 (AND 2014)!!!! An its being called " ballsy and salty... becoming a new Halloween tradition". I'm so proud of this cast and this show and so grateful for the opportunity to play such a fantastic character as Barbra & wear such a wonderful wig!
"There’s “Perfect Weapon,” in which four men croon about their weapon of choice and “My Little Box,” sung with wide-eyed conviction by a fully invested Brittny Congleton; these two hit the mark." - New City reviewer Zach Freeman
"This salty, spunky musical stars two of Night of the Living Dead’s main characters – sweet, skittish Barbara (an effortlessly hilarious Brittny Congleton)..."
-Tom Lawler of TheFourthWalsh.com
"For a show to catch on like this though, it’s really all about the songs. I’m thinking of demented ditties such as: “My Little Box” – To an adorable music-box score, a misty-eyed Barbara reflects back on that critical time in her adolescence when her brother and his asshole friends broke open her “precious box” to the scorn of her mother. This is what happens when concise, cunning songwriting meets transcendent performance (Congleton absolutely slays us with this one). All of this is accomplished in less than 90 seconds – bravo!"

HEY LADIES, my Southern Musical Sketch group, is still smiling from our 2014 Sketchfest performance, where we debuted new sketches and songs and had a rip roarin' good time... we even received a rave review from the new The Sketch Review website.
"A common thread in the Hey Ladies! Sketchfest performance is the inner conflict of developing into your own person while still remembering your upbringing... "NASCAR Women” can also be grouped under this theme. In this high energy number...the humorous lyrics sexualize race cars in a way that I never knew possible, and I, for one, fully appreciated the endless double entendres."
